Rehabilitation Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a Rehabilitation Support Worker to provide an exceptional service for our client in Bury. About The Role

Your role will be dedicated to supporting a 40-year-old male client who lives in his own home. He experiences physical challenges and can mobilise with aids.

You will provide support with his daily routines, focusing on community activities and maintaining his independence. He enjoys fishing, going to the gym, and shopping for supplies related to his hobbies. You will be required to drive his transit van to transport him to and from activities such as fishing trips and gym sessions.

There are no personal care or medication responsibilities in this role. The client works with a team of health professionals, and you will play an important part in supporting his ongoing rehabilitation and engagement in meaningful activities.

Shifts include one long day during the week and one long day at the weekend, as well as a shorter midweek shift. The long shifts typically involve early starts for fishing, arriving at 7:00amto load the van, travel to the fishing location, and assist with setting up and packing away equipment. The shorter shift includes attending the gym together, where you will be encouraged to participate in the workout.

Flexibility is required to accommodate changes in the client’s weekly routine. Building a positive, professional relationship and supporting him to achieve his personal goals are key aspects of this role.

Your main attributes will be friendly, approachable and have empathy towards your client treating them with respect and dignity at all times. We support vulnerable people to live as independently as possible, by building their confidence and skills to realise their potential.

About You

Required

•      Experience of working in a support role, both in the community and the home.

•      Friendly, approachable and confident in the role.

•      Experience and ability to understand and deal with complex and challenging behaviour.

•      Flexible in approach to meet the needs of the client.

•      NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent recognised health profession qualification.

•      Full driving licence.

 

Desirable

•      Experience working with acquired brain injury.

•      Previously worked with therapists to deliver a support plan.

•      Registered on DBS update service.

Availability

Part time, 25 hours per week

This role includes two shifts per week(approximately 7:00am–5:00pm) and one additional half-day shift (around 5hours) dedicated to gym sessions and preparation for activities.

£14.30 per hour
