At Support for Independence, we know that true, person-centred support isn’t just about meeting needs, it’s about creating opportunities, building confidence, and supporting people to enjoy life.
This weekend was a perfect example of that. One of our clients had a clear plan for their time off: a trip out to play crazy golf. With the support of our support worker, Joe, they were able to get out, take part fully, and most importantly, have fun.
Joe joined in on the game, providing encouragement and support throughout. While he didn’t quite win the competition, our client certainly did, proudly taking first place and enjoying every moment of the experience.
Activities like this might seem small, but they have a huge impact. They support social inclusion, promote independence, and give people the chance to do the things they genuinely enjoy. For us, it’s not just about being present, it’s about supporting people to live life their way.
Weekends like this remind us why we do what we do. Supporting independence means celebrating achievements, sharing laughs, and making memories along the way.
